The seventh issue of Shooting Gameside, published by Micro Magazine in May 2013, 127 pages. The lead feature is the first half of a two-part history titled The Namco Technology of the 70s and 80s That Changed Japanese Games, subtitled The Men Who Made Galaxian, the third of the series' Namco specials. Built on interviews with the engineers of Namco's earliest video game era, it examines how the company's hardware was created, down to details such as the deceptively simple enemy movement logic of Galaxian; the concluding part, on Namco's sound hardware, ran in Vol. 8.

Elsewhere the issue covers Caladrius, the smartphone shooters VRITRA and VECTROS, the latter with a special contribution from Taito composer Hisayoshi Ogura's studio, and DoDonPachi Maximum.
