ABOUT

The twelfth and final issue of Shooting Gameside, published by Micro Magazine in 2015; the series closed here after twelve regular volumes and the Vol. 0 compilation, ending the only print magazine the genre ever had to itself. The lead feature surveys shooting games on the Famicom, anchored by an interview with Takayuki Hirono, the Compile developer of Zanac; that interview was later translated into English by shmuplations.com.

The modern side belongs to Cave: a feature on Gothic wa Mahou Otome includes an interview with Tsuneki Ikeda, the company's director and programmer known as IKD, one of the defining figures of the danmaku style. Coverage extends to MUGEN VRITRA and Catapulton, an interview with composer Hiro-shishou and a report from the F/A soundtrack event, and an interview with RYO of Picorinne Soft about the doujin game INFINOS 2. A column offering an overview of simultaneous-play systems in arcade shooters sits alongside the regular departments, including the Shooting Game Art Museum, a classics selection, an exhibition of miniature shooting games, BEEP's column, and Tatsuya Uemura's Do As You Like, all making their last appearance.
