The ninth issue of Shooting Gameside, published by Micro Magazine in 2014, back at the full 159 pages. The lead feature is devoted to R-Type, Irem's 1987 horizontal shooter, and treats it as both game and fiction: a guide to every series entry, an essay decoding the biomechanical R world, a history of the series' influence overseas, and a history of Irem itself.
