The second volume of Hardcore Gaming 101's Guide to Shoot-Em-Ups, by Kurt Kalata and eight contributors, self-published in March 2021 through print-on-demand, in colour paperback, Kindle and PDF editions.

Its organising principle is again the developer chapter, this time covering four arcade houses: Namco, with Xevious, Dragon Spirit, Bosconian, Final Blaster and others; Toaplan, with Tiger Heli, Truxton, Zero Wing and Batsugun among some fifteen games; Raizing, with Sorcer Striker, Battle Garegga and Terra Diver; and Psikyo together with Video System, from Sonic Wings through Samurai Aces, Strikers 1945 and Gunbird. A final section takes in console shooters such as Trouble Shooter, Gaiares and Phalanx.

The Toaplan and Raizing chapters in particular cover the ancestral line of the modern danmaku game, territory no other English book treats at this length.
