Xevious: Fardraut Densetsu

Xevious: Fardraut Densetsu is Compile's 1990 PC Engine version of Namco's vertically scrolling shooter, in which the Solvalou carries an air zapper for flying enemies and a blaster bomb for ground installations. It offers an Arcade mode reproducing the 1983 original alongside a separate Fardraut campaign of four stages, each with its own ship and dialogue sequences, plus new power-up items and reworked boss battles. It follows Compile's 1988 MSX2 release Xevious: Fardraut Saga, whose equivalent Scramble mode ran to sixteen areas.
