A 47-page guide to the Famicom version of Salamander, published in 1987 by JICC Publishing in its Famicom winning-strategy line. The Famicom Salamander arrived the same year, and this slim book was its quick printed companion.
JICC's series favoured compact, cheap guides sold alongside the games themselves, and at under fifty pages this one concentrates on the essentials of Konami's Gradius spin-off, whose loose power-up system and alternating horizontal and vertical stages set it apart from its parent series.
It is typical of the disposable guide culture of the Famicom boom, and correspondingly scarce today.
