Zeldarius
Zeldarius is a Windows fan game built in Game Maker and credited to Scott Hiroshige that recasts the NES Legend of Zelda as a vertically scrolling shoot-em-up, adapting its enemies, sprites and end bosses into the shmup format along with stackable power-ups. It is preserved on the GM4 Games CD with a Competition - Good rating and Mark Overmars's comment that it is a wonderful scrolling shooter based on the Legend of Zelda with fast pacing and a large variation of enemies, let down only by poor graphics and a very small screen. The tiny window is a consequence of early Game Maker versions not stretching their output, so the game still runs in a small box even in full screen.
