Panther

Panther is a single-screen arcade shooter released by Irem in 1981 in which the player steers a tank along the bottom of the screen using a two-way left and right stick, defending the cities standing directly behind it. Enemy tanks descend from the top of the screen and fire on those cities, so the objective is defensive in the manner of Missile Command rather than a matter of clearing waves. Its unusual control is a throttle that sets how far each shot travels, with the fire button mounted on its side.
