Net Guardian: Dai Kyo Utage

Net Guardian: Dai Kyo Utage is a vertically scrolling shoot-em-up for the PC-98, set in a virtual reality where criminals hide inside the computer system and corrupt it through digital manifestations. The player takes the role of a Net Guardian, an angelic figure who can collect power-ups that strengthen the current weapon and can also switch between weapon types, with each stage ending in a boss fight. Its environments alternate between abstract computer nodes and anime imagery, and several parody other games, including a stage whose scenery and enemies recall Dragon Quest.
