Mars

Mars is a 1981 arcade shooter by Artic whose play the Museum of the Game likens to Konami's Scramble. The player pilots a sputnik-shaped spaceship over a landscape that scrolls horizontally to the left on a vertically mounted monitor, destroying ground-based enemies as it goes. Its distinguishing feature is the control panel, which carries two 8-way joysticks, one steering the ship and the other aiming the machine gun independently in any of eight directions. It shipped in upright and cabaret cabinets and supports two players alternating.
