Jupiter Probe

Jupiter Probe is a vertically scrolling shooter published by Microdeal in 1987 for the Amiga and Atari ST, in which the player flies scout ships over the surface of Jupiter to photograph it while a hostile alien race tries to stop the mission. The ships carry twin laser cannons plus a limited stock of two special abilities, Ultrasonics, which destroys aliens in the area around the craft, and Shields, which absorb enemy fire for a short period. Contemporary coverage treated it as a conventional entry in a crowded field, praising the bold colouring of the craters, mountains and ground bases and the soundtrack while calling the graphics chunky.
