Galaxy Frontier

Galaxy Frontier is a free Windows vertically scrolling shooter by Hello World Project made jointly with the Japanese circle Alpha Secret Base, distributed from Alpha Secret Base's site under a Creative Commons licence crediting both, with a separate soundtrack download and a science fiction premise built around Project Cassini and the Dione Type8086 craft. The fire button doubles as a shot selector, holding it giving a wide spread while tapping it repeatedly concentrates the fire. A bomb named Nuclear behaves differently depending on whether the button is held or released, and its gauge refills fast enough that the game is designed around spending bombs freely against heavy enemy fire that begins immediately.
