Aliens and Umbrellas

A low-priced casual fixed-screen shooter by NiftyToolsUK, released on Steam on 2 July 2019. The player's gun sits at the bottom centre of a single non-scrolling screen and fires upward at stick-figure aliens that emerge from portals and descend holding umbrellas, with a side panel tracking score, lives, level and aliens remaining. Shooting an alien's umbrella makes it fall toward the player while firing more heavily, and hitting a blue umbrella awards a timed Blue Shield that blocks blue alien bullets only, not other colours, strikes or collisions.
