The official 111-page guidebook for R-Type Delta, published by Shinseisha in 1998 as a Gamest Mook EX volume. Shinseisha's Gamest was the arcade specialist magazine of the era, and its mook line extended the brand to single-game books; the publisher folded the following year.

R-Type Delta, released for the PlayStation in November 1998, moved Irem's series into 3D graphics while keeping the Force-based play intact, and this was its official companion volume.

A console-exclusive R-Type covered by the arcade world's house publisher marks an odd, transitional moment for both the series and the magazine.
