Gradius: The Definitive Edition (Family Computer)
決定版 グラディウス : ファミリーコンピュータ
Famicom Gradius strategy guide.
ABOUT
A Famicom Gradius strategy guide published by Futami Shobo in 1986 under the title Definitive Edition Gradius. At 81 pages it is a compact companion to Konami's console port, issued as part of the publisher's secret techniques line for Famicom games.
Futami Shobo was one of several houses that rushed guides to market for the biggest Famicom releases of 1986, and Gradius attracted more than one from competing publishers in the same year. This volume leans, as its series suggests, on tricks and hidden techniques as much as on stage maps.
Its value now is documentary: it records how Gradius was played, and what was considered secret knowledge, in the game's first year on home hardware.
